Amalgamation

It was the last day i was supposed to be at work for the year so i gladly took the role of being the day's leader in-charge.


That was till we got a call from the big boss who was angry with how dirty our area was. He wanted the whole company to fall in. Now.


the terror of his coming filled the enemy with madness


All the leaders in the office with me felt a cold shiver down their spine. I knew he would ask for the one in charge. I tried to steel myself. Then we heard him shouting from just outside the office for the guys to fall in. NOW.


The wild men fell on their faces before him.


The next thing we knew he broke through the doors of the office.


The Orcs reeled and screamed and cast aside both sword and spear.


Leaders and followers in their terror all fell in together. He called out the leaders and made them sort out the guys in their respective groups.

Then he called for the ones in charge of each group.


Like a black smoke driven by a mounting wind they fled.


I didn't go forth. But i could hear him asking which group was on duty, and the leaders who went forth all said it was my group.

I saw my life flash before my eyes.




At the end of the incident, i smiled.

I don't know if i ever felt so alive.

People would say i take after my dad.
